How to Move Chrome Address Bar to Bottom on iPhone
Are you a fan of Safari’s address bar placement on your iPhone? You can also move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of your iPhone display.
Starting with iOS 15, Apple made a change that moved Safari’s address bar to the bottom of the app. If you like that experience, you may also want to move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of your iPhone display.
Just like in Safari, the option to move the address bar to the bottom is an optional change. However, the default placement of Chrome’s address bar remains at the top. If you move the address bar and don’t like it at the bottom, you can quickly move it back to the top.
There are a couple of ways that you can move the address bar in Chrome on your iPhone or iPad. We’ll show you both options, and you can use the one that’s most effective for your workflow.
Move the Chrome Address Bar to the Bottom on the iPhone
There are two ways to move the address bar to the bottom and back to the top, but we’ll start with the simplest method.
- Launch Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.
- Long-press the address bar at the top of the browser.
- Select the Move Address Bar To Bottom option from the menu that appears.
- Chrome’s address bar will now display at the bottom of the screen in the browser.
- Want to move it back? No worries. Long-press the address bar and select Move Address Bar To Top from the menu.
Following these steps is the most straightforward way to move Chrome’s address bar to the top or bottom of the screen. You don’t need to dig into settings; just launch Chrome and move it where you want it.
Move Chrome’s Address Bar from Settings
The other way to move Chrome’s address bar to the top or bottom of the screen is through its settings, which you can access using the following steps.
- Launch Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the lower right corner.
- Tap the Settings button when the menu appears. Note that you may need to swipe the browser’s icons to the left to find it.
- Select the Address Bar option from the Settings menu.
- Choose either the Top or Bottom option based on where you want it to appear on the screen.
- After making your choice, tap Done for the setting to take effect.
Once you follow the steps, Chrome’s address bar will appear where you want it until you change its location.
Moving Chrome Address Bar on iPhone or iPad
Having Chrome’s address bar on the bottom may appeal to users who aren’t fond of stretching their thumbs to type in a URL or search for content.
It’s also nice to have the ability to try it out at the bottom for a while to see if you like it. If not, moving it back to your desired position only takes a few taps.
