How to Sign Out of Reddit

Need to quickly sign out of your Reddit account? Follow the steps in this guide.

Whether it’s on your desktop or mobile device, there will come a time when you need to sign out of Reddit to use a different account or hand your phone to someone to use.

Signing out of Reddit and signing back in can also fix problems when Reddit isn’t working correctly. You can sign out of your Reddit account from your iPhone, iPad, Android device, or desktop computer.

Here are the steps you’ll need to take to successfully log out of your Reddit account on any available modern device.

How to Sign Out of Reddit on the Desktop

If you are using Reddit on your desktop via the web version of the service, if you need to sign out of your account, the process is straightforward. You just need to know where to look for the option.

To sign out of Reddit on the desktop:

  1. Launch a web browser and head to Reddit.com. Sign into your account if you aren’t already.
  2. Click your username in the top right corner of the page.Sign Out of Reddit
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu that appears and select the Log Out option.

Once you select the logout option, you will be successfully signed out of your Reddit account from the site on your desktop.

How to Sign Out of Reddit on Mobile

Signing out of Reddit on your mobile device is just a few taps away. When you sign out of the mobile app, it removes your account from the app, and you can then use a different account or browse posts without signing in.

You can also sign out and browse the content without signing back in.

To sign out of Reddit on mobile:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner of the app.Sign Out of Reddit
  2. Tap the down arrow next to your username above the Online Status and Create Avatar buttons from the menu that appears.
  3. A new Accounts menu will appear at the bottom of the screen, where you need to tap the arrow icon next to your account name.
    Note: You can also select the Anonymous Browsing option from this menu which lets you stay logged in and browse the content. However, browsing history isn’t saved, and you won’t get personalized notifications about your activity.
  4. Select the Logout option on the following menu that appears.Sign Out of Reddit

Once you complete the steps, you will be successfully signed out of Reddit. It’s worth noting that once you sign out from the app, you can still browse the site to read posts and other content.

You won’t be able to upvote, leave comments, or create posts without logging in, however.

Using Reddit

If you need to sign out of Reddit to use a different account or for privacy, doing so is quick and easy from your desktop, phone, or tablet.
