How to Manage User Profiles on Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video finally now has a Profiles feature. Here’s a look at how to use and manage them.
Amazon Prime has finally rolled out user profiles to its Prime Video streaming service. Similar to Netflix, you can now share your Prime Video subscription with five additional users. Here’s how to add and manage user profiles on Amazon Prime Video.
Add Profiles to Amazon Prime Video
To add a new profile to your Amazon Prime Video account from your phone, launch the app and then tap the “My Stuff” icon. After that tap the New button. Or, to create a Kids profile tap on the “Kids” option.
Type in a username for the person and then tap the Save button.
To switch between accounts just tap the user icon in the lower right corner of the screen and then tap the user account you want to access.
Manage Amazon Prime Video Profiles
To manage profiles, you first need to launch a browser and log in to the Prime Video website. Then click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. And select “Manage Profiles” from the dropdown menu.
That will bring up the following screen so you can switch accounts if you want. But here to manage profiles you want to click the Edit Profile button. Note that here you can also add a new profile if you want, too.
After clicking the button, you will see a pencil icon on top of the user profiles. Click the one you want to edit here.
Now you can rename the profile and click the “Save Changes” button or if you want to get rid of it, click on the “Remove Profile” link.
If you are removing the profile you will need to verify that you want to remove it.
From here you can also add a Kids profile. That will give you a profile that contains age-appropriate content for your young ones. Click the Kids icon and that will instantly create a Kids profile with content for your children as shown below.
To switch between profiles simply click the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Then select the profile you want to switch to from the dropdown menu.
That’s basically it for managing user profiles from your Amazon Prime Video subscription. It’s straightforward and easy to do. You can quickly create new user profiles so your content isn’t getting combined with others in your household. And create a Kids profile with just a couple of clicks. Your newly created profiles will sync between the web and mobile versions. But note that you need to log into the website to remove or rename a profile.
