Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Build 22000.184 to Beta Channel

Microsoft today is releasing Windows 11 build 22000.184 to Insiders in the Beta Channel. Here’s a look at what’s new.

Microsoft today is releasing Windows 11 Insider preview build 22000.184 to Insiders in the Beta Channel. This release follows up on last week’s build 22000.176 released to the Beta Channel. Remember, if Beta Channel builds will be more stable, but still provides some new features, fixes, and improvements we can expect for the final version of Windows 11 when it’s released on October 5^th. Here’s a look at what you can expect in today’s build.

Windows 11 Preview Build 22000.184

There are no new features to report in today’s Beta Channel release. However, there is a couple of bug fixes:

• Fixed an issue where the new learn more info in OOBE about Windows Hello wasn’t translated for non-English languages.
• Fixed an issue where a small set of languages were missing translations across the UI in Windows 11.

Of course, since this is still beta, there are some other known issues including:

• We’re investigating reports from Insiders in the Beta Channel where after upgrading to Windows 11, they are not seeing the new Taskbar and the Start menu doesn’t work. To workaround this if you are impacted, please try going to Windows Update > Update history, uninstalling the latest cumulative update for Windows, and the reinstall it by checking for updates.

[Start]

• In some cases, you might be unable to enter text when using Search from Start or the Taskbar. If you experience the issue, press WIN + R on the keyboard to launch the Run dialog box, then close it.

In addition, there are some issues with Search, Widgets, Windows Sandbox and more.

Insider Builds

It’s important to remember that Windows 11 is still in the beta or “preview” stage. These builds are not meant for inexperienced users. They are also not meant to run on your primary production machine. Insider builds contain many known stability issues that can cause your system to become unstable or even crash.

This is the reason it’s only being offered to members of the Windows Insider Program. When the final build is ready for the public, it will be preinstalled on new PCs.  Then it will be available for users with eligible PCs in the first part of 2022.
